Feminism, safety and space; these themes echo throughout my work. I aim to raise self-awareness, inviting the viewer to look at life from another perspective, often by helping others to use art as a therapeutic tool. This involves many aspects including print work, painting, drawing, photography, installation, sculpture and socially engaged art. I mimic and process issues that I come across in my day to day life or work, such as in my collection of prints seen in home page entitled 'safe space 1', and in my studio group show 'Local #1'. My two socially engaged sculptures entitled 'seeking refuge' where featured in the national botanic gardens Dublin from 6th September to 19th October 2018. My most recent work 'ironing it out' was in the Marketplace gallery in Co.Armagh on-show as part of 'threshold' exhibition from September to Nov 2020. |
